Flores Del Campo Ii Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy fruit, medicines and clothing at the wholesale level.

Flores Del Campo Ii Group's story

Miriam, a 48-year-old widow, has been responsible for raising five children, who are now over the age of 21. She is a member of the Friendship Bridge Trust Bank “Flores del Campo II¨ that is located in the department/state of Quiche. She provides a comfortable home for her children and works hard to cover their educational expenses.

Miriam sells fresh juices, fruit smoothies, clothing and medicines. She is currently requesting a Kiva loan to buy fruit, medicines and clothing at the wholesale level.

Six Maya Kíche women in the Trust Bank, along with Miriam, look forward to their monthly meetings when they support each other, make loan payments, and participate in essential educational trainings, part of the “Microcredit Plus” program of loans, education and health-care services. The program gives them hope for the future, since often they come from very impoverished backgrounds. They appreciate their monthly trainings when they learn about an aspect of four main topics that include business, health, family and women. The program empowers these ladies and raises their self-esteem.

When Kiva lenders fund a loan for a woman like Mariam, it is like watering and fertilizing a plant that allows them to grow into their full potential. Thank you to each of you!
