Stacey & Alex's story
Stacey and Alex both grew up in Danvers, MA. Both of them were surrounded by big loving Italian families and lots of free time to play and roam outside. Stacey graduated from University of Vermont in 2010 with a BA in Environmental Studies and Alex graduated from Boston University in 2012 with a BA in Economics. They both come from a long line of business owners (dad, grandfather, uncles, cousins), so it wasn't a far leap for them to start a business of their own one day. Stacey and Alex were acquaintances in high school and after became the best of friends and life partners. One of their first big projects they worked together on was a huge garden in Alex's parents backyard in Danvers. Stacey and Alex fell in love with their garden, diving deep into soil science, seeds, and cooking up the fruits of their labor. After years of living in Boston they wanted to retreat from the city, live somewhere more quiet and work outside. Stacey pursued a career as a professional chef and stuck with that for 7 years. Alex landed his first job at a farm in Wenham and then spent the next 6 summers working at local organic veggie farms. Eventually they decided it was time to go on their own! Alex and Stacey wanted to work for themselves and provide a direct line of communication for people and their food. 10 years ago we started a garden together and then it all flowed from there. Our collective love for food and its effects took us on this journey. We always dreamed of one day having our own farm and restaurant together at the same place. We feel optimistic that we are slowly but surely inching toward that lifetime achievement together.
