Annie's story

Annie is a vibrant woman from Samfya, a small town in the Luapula province of Zambia. Having no source of income, she has decided to become a Zoona entrepreneur and run her own business assisting people with sending and receiving money. Anne says that running her own business will make her independent and she will be able to support herself and her mother without having to rely on anyone for support.

Annie is the business owner, and she works for herself as a teller because the revenue she is currently generating is not sufficient for her to employ a teller. What she is currently getting is simply hand to mouth and just enough to meet her bills and basic needs. Annie hopes to grow her business and expand so that she can create opportunities in the community for the young and unemployed.

Anne, therefore, requests for a KIVA loan, with the money, she hopes to increase her transaction float and ensure that she grows her business and be able to expand and reach more of her community.
