La Primavera Group's loan finished fundraising, but these other borrowers need your support

A loan helped to buy rice, spices, meat and other ingredients at the wholesale level.

La Primavera Group's story

The President of the Friendship Bridge Trust Bank “La Primavera” is 49-year-old Blanca. She was elected because of her great leadership skills. Although she has a secretarial certificate, Blanca was unable to secure work so she works at her small food business making delicious regional snacks and meals. Along with her husband, Blanca has worked hard so that each of her 3 children, all over the age of 24, could have a university level education. Her youngest is still attending classes. Blanca is asking Kiva investors for a loan to buy rice, spices, meat and other ingredients at the wholesale level.

Monthly, Blanca calls the Trust Bank meetings to order and the 6 ladies in the group make loan payments. This is their 2nd Kiva loan cycle. Their businesses include small restaurants, textile production, and the sales of catalog products (Tupperware, shoes, personal care products). Then they participate in educational trainings that help them with their businesses (planning, budgeting, investing), their families (nutrition, health, hygiene, use of medicinal plants) and themselves (self esteem, empowerment). This useful combination of loans, education and healthcare services is called “Microcredit Plus”. It is very successful for these ladies.

Thank you, Kiva investors, for your kindness in funding these much appreciated loans! Blanca and her friends are stepping into a brighter future, benefiting themselves, their families and their community in Chimaltenango, Guatemala!
