She is a 41-year-old Syrian refugee widow who suddenly finds herself striving alone away from her hometown and obliged to work to maintain her basic living needs after her husband passed away.

She is planning to buy a sewing machine to run her own sewing business at her home to earn enough of an income for a decent life. For this reason, she got together with Fatima and Manal to acquire a loan from Kiva's field partner Al Majmoua to pay for the needed sewing machine.
