Abaa Group's story

Blessing is a hard-working lady, age 31, who resides in Ushewekunze, Harare with her family. Her husband operates a commuter omni-bus and they take care of their one school-going child. Blessing is a serious cross-border trader, who has improved her standard of living through her dedication. She started her business many years ago, re-stocking clothes and stationery from neighboring countries. Blessing joined Thrive Microfinance with her friends to access additional capital for their businesses. She attended financial training where she learnt the importance of savings and basic marketing strategies to increase her sales. Blessing has received her third loan from Thrive. She used the loan to buy stationery from South Africa to increase her sales during back to school period. She hopes to serve her community by providing stationery at an affordable price.
