Theresa's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy more plantain, cassava, potatoes, eddoes, and yam to sell.

Theresa's story

Meet Theresa, 44 years old. She is a single mother with 4 children whose ages are 12 through 25 years. All of her children are presently in school and live at home. She runs and operates a business where she sells plantain, cassava, potatoes, eddoes, and yam in a busy market place.

Theresa learned how to sell from her mother. She has been in this business for 7 years now and she describes herself as a strong businesswoman. She transports supplies to her business site by using a car. She has no problems with her business. Theresa sells every Monday through Saturday.

Theresa had asked for a loan through BRAC Liberia, Kiva's field partner. The loan will be used to buy more plantain, cassava, potatoes, eddoes, and yam to sell. This will allow her to expand business and thus repay her loan. She likes her business because it lets her earn more profits on a daily basis. She is proud of her business because it allows her to take care of her children. In the future she wants to become a big businesswoman. She wishes to say thanks.
