Mai's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy sand, cement, brick and equipment to build Mai's family a sanitary toilet.

Mai's story

Mai is 37 years old, married with three children and has worked as a farmer for more than ten years. She lives in a rural town in Nong Cong district, Thanh Hoa Province. Her family is a low-income household in her village, and farming is not a reliable source of income.

One of Mai’s most critical concerns is that their latrine is not hygienic. Her income is not big enough to finance a new one with money at hand, so she is requesting a loan to buy sand, cement, brick and equipment to build a sanitary toilet. This will be Mai’s first loan through Kiva's field partner Thanh Hoa Microfinance Institution.

Mai hopes for her family to be healthy and happy, her farm to do well and to build a new house.
