Santa Brigida

Charapoto, Manabí Province, Ecuador / Agriculture

Santa Brigida's loan finished fundraising, but these other borrowers need your support

A loan helped to buy sowing kit (certified seeds, urea, fertilizer, herbicides, and pesticides) and to pay daily wages.

Santa Brigida's story

The Valle Verde ("Green Valley") sector takes its name from the rice fields in most of its parts and the greenery characteristic of the Charapotó-Corre Agua route.

Santa, 64, is married and had nine children, one of whom is deceased, and the rest are independent adults. Her spouse is a farmer. They live in their own house.

Santa, along with her husband, maintains their rice fields on their own plot of land. They work every day, especially on the days they cultivate grass, for drying in the yard or when they take it to the chopper where there are buyers. They can sell it at a good price there or at their home where their customers from the area come to buy by the pound or as per their need.

With this new loan, she will buy sowing kit (certified seeds, urea, fertilizer, herbicides and pesticides) and pay daily wages.

Her dream is to be in good health to continue farming, which they like.
