Ginger Lissette's story

In the parish of Charapotó, farming and cattle raising are the main economic activities. Their vegetable produce is widely marketed, and their rice is considered the best in Ecuador.

Ginger is 22 years old. She is married with two children, a two-year-old and a baby of 11 months. Her husband is a pig trader. They live with her in-laws.

Ginger makes typical local dishes with her grandmother in her restaurant. She works Saturdays and Sundays preparing breakfasts, lunches and teas, as well as made-to-order dishes.

Ginger will use the new loan to buy chairs, tables and groceries to continue making food. Her dream is to have her own house and for her family to be healthy.
