Gugulethu's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!
A loan helped to start her own poultry business.
Gugulethu is a 30-year-old entrepreneur who lives with her mother and her two children in the district of Lupane in Zimbabwe. She is requesting a Kiva loan to start her own poultry business of keeping broilers (meat chickens). Gugulethu plans to use the profit she earns to support her family and herself. By supplementing the subjects that she didn’t do well at, she can eventually further her education. She will repay the ‘social interest’ on her loan by volunteering 2.5 hours weekly as a CAMFED Transition Guide, supporting other young women who are just entering CAMFED’s alumnae organization, CAMA, by delivering an orientation course with weekly sessions on topics including health and financial literacy, as well as by providing career guidance.
