Yandra Jacqueline's story

Yandra is 18 years old, she is an entrepreneurial woman that from a young age has looked for ways to help her family. She lives in San Javier de Cachavi parish, in the San Lorenzo canton, Imbabura province. She lives together with her mother in a small residence.

Yandra recently finished high school, and now makes a living raising chickens. Also, with her mother she has cacao crops. These activities generate the incomes they need to cover their family expenses.

Yandra needs a loan in order to buy chickens and feed for them. With this she will raise them and then sell them - in this way her business will continue to grow and she will have a higher income for her family.

Yandra wants to start her university studies, but currently she does not have sufficient financial resources to cover educational expenses; for this reason, she has decided to save her small earnings to have capital. She will choose a long-distance education to have time in her home and to help her mother with the agricultural activities.

Yandra is thankful for Kiva for financing her undertaking, and she is confident that this will help her launch her business and above all she will have the resources for her expenses and to save a little for her education.
