Victoria Adelante 6 Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy merchandise to sell like chicken, fruit, water, sugar, etc. to continue generating income.

Victoria Adelante 6 Group's story

Melida lives in a batey in the province of San Pedro de Macorís in the Dominican Republic. Bateys are communities where people live in dire poverty, the majority being Haitian immigrants.

The province's economy is very diversified with tourism, industry (a free zone), cattle, farming (citrus fruit and above all sugar cane) and informal commerce standing out. It is the province with the most sugar mills.

For six years Melida has been selling chicken and fruit juice. Thanks to this business she obtains income to help support her family.

Her difficult economic situation forced her to start this business so she could subsist. Sometimes her sales are not very good but until now the business has been successful. Melida dreams of seeing her family with a better quality of living and of having a prosperous, large business.

Melida needs to buy merchandise to sell like chicken, fruit, water, sugar, etc. so she can continue to generate income and subsist.

Thanks for contributing to the Victoria Adelante 6 group.
