Maria Teresa

El Peñol, Antioquia, Colombia / Agriculture

Maria Teresa's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy materials to build a chicken coop and more broiler chickens.

Maria Teresa's story

Maria is a strong, hardworking person born into a humble family that found an alternative lifestyle in the country. From her family, she learned how to do all of the farming that is now her main source of income.

At 18 years old, Maria raises and sells chickens. She also has laying hens whose eggs are sold at the market in the town of El Peñol; this is how she makes enough money to support her family.

Maria will use the loan to buy material to build a chicken coop and buy more broiler chickens. This will increase her production and she will be able to meet the demand for her products, improving her sales and her business's profit margin.
