Philista's story

Get to know Philista, a resourceful woman and living proof that hard work leads to success. Her power of smiling is undeniable and creates an impact of positive living to those she interacts with. Although she is the sole bread winner, she always finds her way to support her children.

Philista lives in a remote village in Siongiroi and sustains her children using the proceeds of her farming. Because of her love for farming, she has even nicknamed one of her cows. Philista has always wanted to take care of another dairy cow but a lack of capital has prevented her from doing so.

She is now seeking a loan to buy an additional dairy cow to improve her milk vending business. The cow she intends to buy is a breed that produces rich creamy milk. With this cow, she will produce more milk, which will translate into more income. Demand for dairy milk in her area is high, but the supply is low. So, through this loan, Philista is going to have more milk and comfortably meet demand. Philista's vision is to keep even more dairy cows so that she will be able to build a biodigester, which will help her to save more energy.
