Mujeres Adelante Al Progreso 6 Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy merchandise to sell, such as oil, rice, beans, sugar, soda, bread, seasonings, and cookies, among other items.

Mujeres Adelante Al Progreso 6 Group's story

Altagrace is a Haitian immigrant who came to the Dominican Republic thirty years ago in search of better living conditions. Altagrace came with an aunt from Haiti to work. She had children here and set up a café. She later established a neighborhood store because it gave her better income.

Altagrace lives in a batey in the province of San Pedro de Macorís. Bateyes are communities where people live in extreme poverty. The majority of these people are Haitian immigrants.

Altagrace began with a café, but it did not give her the income she needed, which is why she decided to set up a neighborhood store. Thanks to this business, Altagrace has been able to help support her family.

Altagrace dreams of some day being able to make her store large and prosperous, as well as having her own house and better living conditions for herself and her family.

Altagrace needs to buy merchandise to sell such as oil, rice, beans, sugar, soda, bread, seasonings, and cookies, among other items, in order to be able to continue running her business and generating the income she needs to continue helping her family.
