Mele's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy some yams for the growing of her plantation and also pandanus for her weaving and mulberry for tapa-making.

Mele's story

Mele is 48 years old and a mother of four children. She's married to a husband who is in farming. Three of their children are currently attending school.

Mele is requesting a loan from SPBD to buy her some resources for her businesses. This is her ninth loan cycle. Her business has been running for years now because it is very successful and improved. Her businesses are making tapa, weaving and also running the plantation. She sells her crops after harvesting and uses it to help her family and also sells her tapa and her mats that she weaves to help paying back her loan.

Mele spends most of her time working in her business during weekdays and on weekends, she is marketing her business. She and her husband help each other in operating their businesses.

In the future, she dreams of providing a good future for her children from her profits and also continues on running her business actively for the sake of her family's living in the future.
