A loan helped to start her own business buying and selling groceries.

Melody's story

Melody is a 21-year-old entrepreneur who lives with her child in the Beitbridge District in Zimbabwe. She is requesting a Kiva loan in order to start her own business buying and selling groceries. Melody plans to use the profit she earns to expand the business and further her education.

She will repay the "social interest" on her loan by volunteering 2.5 hours per week as a Camfed Transition Guide, supporting other young women who are just entering Camfed’s alumnae organization, CAMA, by delivering an orientation course with weekly sessions on topics including health, financial literacy, and career guidance.
