Olivia's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy chickens and feed.

Olivia's story

Olivia is a 26-year-old entrepreneur who lives with her child in the Hurungwe district, in Zimbabwe. She has a poultry business, keeping broiler chickens. With her first Kiva loan, Olivia expanded her clothing business. She used the profits she earned to improve her standard of living and also farmed maize (corn).

Olivia is now requesting a second loan to diversify by expanding her poultry business through the purchase of chickens and additional feed. She plans to use the profits she earns to supplement her failed 'O' level school subjects and buy clothes for her child.

Olivia will repay the "social interest" on her second loan by volunteering 2.5 hours per week as a CAMFED Transition Guide, supporting other young women who are just entering CAMFED’s alumnae organization, CAMA, by delivering an orientation course with weekly sessions on topics including health, financial literacy, and career guidance.
