Total loan: $400

Rose's Group

Mumias, Kakamega County, Kenya / Agriculture

Rose's Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to purchase hybrid seeds and fertilizer for the cultivation of maize.

Rose's Group's story

Rose, pictured above, has been a farmer for 8 years, and is now proud to represent her group of 9 farmers in Mumias District. She is 35 years old, married, and has 3 children.

Rose likes to think of herself as a very reliable person. She has been working alongside One Acre Fund since 2018, and decided to represent her group because she wanted to gain leadership skills. She says that being part of the One Acre Fund community has meant that she has been able to consistently feed her family. Rose plans to use the profits from this coming season to send her children to school.

In total, Rose’s Group will receive inputs to cultivate 4 acres of land. Given that some members of the group will also be purchasing a solar light with this loan, the group will also receive 1 solar light.
