Caña Manza (Santa Ana) Group's story

Santa Ana is a beautiful valley whose strength is in agriculture. There are fields of corn and rice, as well as ranching. In terms of gastronomy, there are a variety of typical foods like "viches" (a soup made from a peanut base), "tongas" (a chicken and rice dish), etc. It also has freshwater spas.

The loan group is made up of 10 members; 8 are women and 2 are men. They meet every fifteen days in the home of a member. The president is Daysi. She is 40 years old and has two children ages 20 and 17 (one is in high school and the other works.) Her husband works in agriculture. They live in their own home. Daysi works selling Avon products (beauty products, cosmetics, perfume, and women's accessories.) She works three days per week, two to three hours per day. She sells her products on credit and collects every eight days. She also works raising and selling pigs, and has a small corral where she keeps them until they are ready to sell to customers she has had for many years.

With this new loan, she will purchase animal feed, vaccines, vitamins, makeup, jewelry, etc. Her dream is to have pig farm.
