Maria Seledonia's story

María is partnered and currently lives with her family, which is made up of her partner and two children. Her children's ages are 3 and 6. María has as a business selling rice pudding, atoles [corn-based beverages], and poliadas [custards]. She learned this business with the help of her mother and has been developing it independently for 12 years. She works from Monday to Friday with a schedule of nine in the morning to six in the evening. One of her advantages is that she already has many frequent customers and her disadvantage is that there is competition in the area.

With the financing, she will purchase raw materials such as corn, rice, sugar, etc. to prepare the sale of atoles [corn-based beverages], poliadas [custards] and other traditional beverages. She plans to strengthen her business with the investment, and purchase the necessary merchandise at low prices and of better quality. The risk of the investment is that the product is perishable and she could have losses.

Her dream is to grow her business to generate jobs. As for her family, she dreams of supporting her children in the future so that they get an academic education and become professionals.
