A loan helped to buy food for her pigs.
Thanh Luong 62 Group's story
Phuong is a Thai ethnic woman. She is 33, and the mother of two children at the age of 13 and 6. Now she lives with her parents in law, husband and her kids in a Thai traditional stilt house in a poor and remote area. Because of her difficult situation, Phuong has no higher education, and, after school, she started farming work. Phuong and husband are the main people who generate income so that every day, they work laboriously on her farm, with various activities, such as growing rice and raising pigs, fish, buffalos, and chickens. But she usually faces a problem of diseases in her chickens, and a lack of capital. This is the seventh time Phuong has taken out a loan from Anh Chi Em program to buy feed for her pigs. She hopes that they will grow up quickly and healthy, to bring her family a great profit, which she will use to expand her farm and cover for her children tuition fee at school. Phuong dreams that her family will move out of poverty and always be filled with warmth and happiness.
