Aminata's Group's story

This "banc villageois", established in the area since May 2009, includes this group of nine women who live in the same district. They are united by strong solidarity and maintain close relationships. Their principal business is sales.

Aminata, standing to the left in the photo with her hand raised, is the representative. She is 56 years old, married and the mother of three children, including one girl, who all attend school.

Aminata's business is selling ice cream and vegetables. She buys her supplies wholesale at the central market and resells at retail from her home. She has more than 25 years of solid experience in this field.

She intends to use her loan as working capital so she doesn't run out of products in her business. She is also concerned about better meeting her customers' needs. Despite the competition, she manages to sell her products because she has a good reputation in the district and offers high quality products.

Aminata will use her income to help pay for the daily expenditures and to save at the "banc villageois".
