Lanie's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy materials for fishing and buy additional stocks for their store.

Lanie's story

Lanie is a married woman from the town of Concepcion, Iloilo. She is 33 years old and the mother of three children. The oldest child is 12 years old and the youngest is 5 years old. She and her husband earn a living through a fishing business. They have been doing this for many years to support the needs of their children and provide food for the family. Aside from fishing, Lanie also runs a sari-sari (variety) store for additional income.

Now, Lanie asks for a loan through Kiva’s field partner, CEVI (A Microfinance NGO), in the Philippines. She will use this loan to buy materials for fishing that can help her and her husband continue their fishing activity. The other part will be used to buy additional stocks for their store.

Lanie aspires to improve their livelihood in the future so they can have better lives.
