Pedro Maria

Pedro lives in San Pedro de Macorís province in the Dominican Republic. The economy of the province is very diversified, distinguished by tourism, industry (free zone), cattle ranching, agriculture (citrus but mostly sugar cane), and informal commerce. It is the province where the largest number of sugar mills are found.

For the last three years Pedro has had a convenience store where he sells a great variety of products ranging from rice, seasoning, beans, soft drinks, bread, cheese, canned goods, among others.

Pedro thanks this business for helping his family's livelihood. He also dreams of setting up a larger convenience store and getting a vehicle to reach more places with the sales from the store.
