Nueva Imagen Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy a small freezer.

Nueva Imagen Group's story

These women are all members of the Nueva Imagen communal bank. This group has five women as members. They are very enterprising and very creative at their businesses.

One member is 61-year-old Magda, who is single and has two children. Magda is very hard-working and plucky. Thanks to her efforts, she has been able to do better and move forward with her family. For 20 years, Magda has mainly been working selling fried goods from a coal-fuelled grill. (She sells kebabs - prepared with small pieces of cow heart meat and served on sticks with potato or yucca - and friend chicken, fried liver, and more.) Magda also sells fizzy drinks. She sells these goods just outside her own home from Monday to Saturday, and it is her and her family’s only source of income.

Magda will use this loan to buy a small freezer to start her fizzy drinks (to keep them very cold) and continue earning higher profits. In the photo, Magda is first on the left, wearing a black shirt.

Magda and all the group members are grateful to Kiva for this loan and for the trust placed in them.
