A loan helped to buy some mulberry for her business of making tapa.

Siu's story

Siu is 42 years old and a mother of seven children and four grandchildren. Five of her children are currently attending school. She has been running her business for years now because this is her eighth loan cycle.

There are nine of them living together in their home. Her husband works as a carpenter while she is running her business of making tapa. She's running her business from her home. She used to sell her tapa in the market or by the sea to earn money to help her family, especially her children.

She faces challenges when the mulberry is very expensive. When she buys expensive mulberry, then her tapa sells at expensive prices too, and it causes a slow in her business.

Siu works hard in her business during the week but does not work during the weekend. Her goals are to save money to take her kids to school, to buy their new car to help her business transportation, and also to build her family a new house.
