Joan's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy farm inputs such as fertilizer and seeds, to increase her farming output so that she can provide a better life for her school-going children.

Joan's story

Hello Kiva community!

Joan is a mother from a remote village in the Nyamira area of Kenya. She is a very hardworking person. Thanks to her daily efforts, she has managed to give her children a good start by providing them with a good quality education.

Joan’s primary sources of income are crops and animal farming. She also earns some income from a personal business. She only managed a primary education and is content with the farming lifestyle.

The Nyamira area is a favorable area for farming, so she is seeking a loan to buy farm inputs such as fertilizer and seeds to enable her to grow more crops, reap maximum profits, and also increase her business.

Being a woman and accessing funds in Kenya, especially the Nyamira area, is very challenging, but Joan feels relieved knowing there are institutions such as Kiva that help enterprising women like her. Her goal is to improve her living conditions and secure the future of her children.

Her biggest dreams are to be able to support her family by herself, to become independent, and to buy a home.

Joan counts on your help and hopes for your attention.
