A loan helped to buy pandanus for her business of weaving and also helps to renovate her house.

Fusi's story

Fusi is 65 years old, mother of five children and she has ten grandchildren. She is a married woman and she lives with her family in their own home.

They are into two businesses: plantation and weaving. Her husband is responsible for their plantation while Fusi is running the weaving business.

She had her loan from SPBD and used it to buy some materials and resources that they used for their two businesses and also to renovate their house.

Last February Tonga was struck by a very strong cyclone named Gita that affected most of Tongan people's lives, including Fusi's house. Part of their living room was damaged.

Fusi said that her daughter helps to replace her in the business if she's busy or sick. She has put an effort into working hard in her business to earn some income for her family and also to help with her loan repayment.

Fusi has a vision for the future of her business she dreams to have some more income to provide better education for her grandchildren who she treats as her own children.
