Molo, Nakuru County, Kenya / Agriculture

Naomi's loan finished fundraising, but these other borrowers need your support

A loan helped to buy farming inputs, such as certified seeds and fertilizers, to improve her farm's output and make profits to educate her children.

Naomi's story

Women farmers experience a lack of know-how and confidence to use the improved technology in farming. However, there are some few women, such as Naomi (pictured above), who always believe that determination is an ingredient of success.

Naomi has mastered farming activities, such as growing, caring, and harvesting, and she earns income from her crops as well. She is a woman who has passion for her work and therefore inspires those in her village as well as her customers.

The biggest problem that farmers from Molo face is a huge deficit in terms of access to agricultural inputs, meaning that farmers' yields and incomes are far below what they could be. Juhudi Kilimo partnered with Kiva to provide financial services to smallholders around Kenya. Through these financial services, farmers from Molo like Naomi can now buy productive assets and important agricultural inputs for use on their farms.

Naomi is requesting a loan to buy farm inputs, such as seeds, fertilizer, herbicides, and pesticides. Your loan will enable her to improve her production through the use of quality farm inputs. This intervention will help her meet the increasing demand for food in the market and, in the process, generate more income to repay the loan debt and improve her family's quality of life. She also hopes to improve the conditions of her house.
