A loan helped to buy a dairy cow to increase her livestock headcount and sales of organic milk.

Gulbahram's story

The 62-year-old Gulbahram is married, with three children. She has a secondary education, and is industrious and cheerful by nature. She has been working in agriculture since 1976, and this is her family's main source of income. Thanks to Gulbahram's hard work and her husband's help with the farm, it presently consists of two cows, five horses, and a 1.8-hectare plot of land on which she grows pepper plants.

In order to develop her farm further, Gulbahram has turned to Bai Tushum Bank for a loan of 50,000 som (KGS), with which she will buy a dairy cow to increase her headcount and the yield of organic milk. She plans to put the income generated by the loan into building a house in town, while saving a portion of it to buy a family automobile.
