Joyce's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy stocks of beans and oil palm for her food business.

Joyce's story

Joyce is 32 years of age. She is married with two lovely children. Together with the family, they live in Begoro, a community in Koforidua, the Eastern Regional capital of Ghana.

The source of income for Joyce’s family is from the sale of a popular local food called “red red”, made from cooked beans, “gari”, palm oil, and fried plantains. She has been in this activity for the past seven years. Her main challenge with this business is inadequate capital to buy the ingredients in bulk to enjoy economy of scale.

She is thus requesting for a loan facility, so she can buy sacks of beans and “gari” and gallons of oil palm in bulk.

She intends to increase her working capital with profits from the business.

She appreciates the support from the Kiva community.
