Ellen's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to start her own poultry business, rearing broilers (meat chickens) for sale.

Ellen's story

Ellen is a 19-year-old entrepreneur who lives with her aunt in the Gokwe South in Zimbabwe.

Ellen is requesting a Kiva loan to start her own poultry business, rearing broilers (meat chickens) for sale.

Ellen plans to use the profit she earns to pay school fees for her younger brother.

She will repay the ‘social interest’ on her loan by volunteering for 4 hours per week as a Young Woman on Transition, to shadow and support Learner Guides as they carry out sessions at schools and convene study groups in communities to follow up students with attendance challenges and dropouts.
