Estrella De Belen Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy more merchandise, such as pasta, oil, etc. to sell from her stand in the market.

Estrella De Belen Group's story

These borrowers are members of the Estrella de Belen (Star of Bethlehem) communal bank. It is made up of five very enterprising women who show a great deal of creativity in their businesses.

One of them is Rosa, who is 50 years old, single, and has three children. She is very hardworking and a fighter. With a great deal of effort she has improved herself and moved her family forward.

For eleven years she has worked selling condiments, such as minced garlic, special ground peppers, etc. She also sells some groceries, such as rice, soy sauce, etc., from a stand in the market. She works every day, and her job is the only source of income for her and her family.

She will invest the loan in buying more merchandise, such as pasta, oil, etc., to later sell, in order to generate more income. Rosa is the second from the right of those seated in the photo, and is wearing a gray and turquoise jacket. Rosa and all of the group members are grateful to Kiva for the loan provided them and the confidence placed in them.
