Abibatu's story

Meet 45-year-old Abibatu from Waterloo2 Branch. She is married and has five children between the ages of 12 and 26 years. Five of them are currently attending school.

Abibatu runs a retail business and sells spray, roll on, powder, cream, soap, and other assorted items to her customers around the community. She has been in this business for the past 10 years now and work eight hours per day and six days a week. Her other source of income is from her husband. Abibatu says her business is doing well without any challenges.

Abibatu requested this loan from BRAC Sierra Leone to purchase more spray, roll on, cream, powder, soap, and other assorted items to increase her business. She says that the extra income from this loan will help her to educate her children and improve her business. In the next five years she wants to expand to a big shop. She says thanks and appreciates BRAC Sierra Leone and the Kiva community for their support.
