A loan helped to harvest crops and pay for autumn's agriculture work.

Eugenia's story

Eugenia is a 35-year-old farmer from Magurele village, Ungheni region, Moldova. She is married and has three sons and a daughter. All of them are students. Her husband Valeriu is not working as he is disabled and receives a pension. He helps Eugenia manage the farm as much as possible.

Eugenia processes 2.5 ha of agricultural land on which she grows corn, sunflowers and a vineyard. At home she has a small farm on which she raises a cow, a horse, pigs, poultry and sheep. The farming work isn’t easy, but Eugenia likes her occupation because she feels very good in the midst of nature. Her farm is a source of food and source of income for her family. Eugenia sells dairy products and meat and she has many loyal customers.

It is now the season of autumn agricultural works. It was a fruitful year and Eugenia is waiting for a good harvest. She needs financial resources to pay for the necessary agricultural works. For this reason, she requested a loan from Kiva.

As a result, she will be able to harvest her land to ensure her family and animals have food.
