Nicole's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!
A loan helped us pay fair prices to local ranchers/sustainable farmers for their animals as we increase & process inventory before product launch.
I have always had a passion people, critters, and the land. We grew up moving around small southern towns. I learned the value of hard work, community, and ingenuity from my folks. I handed dad tools as he fixed our vehicles, did household maintenance, and built sheds out of machinery crates. My mom loved animals as much as I did and listened to my first 'pitch' to start a hamstery in 4th grade. In high school, my next business was raising rodents for pet stores. We learned to use our skills to give back on mission trip building projects and taking pets to nursing homes and schools. I graduated from Dordt College in Sioux Center, IA with bachelor's in Animal Science, worked on small dairies in SE MN and joined the Land Stewardship Project. In 2013 a car accident resulted in a stroke and a week in ICU. I realized I had a choice, I could dwell on what was lost or move my thumb. I moved my thumb, then walked, read, and drove. Being reliant on others was humbling & challenging, my Faith, family, and friends got me through. It was a wake up call, I realized the people around me mattered the most. A year later I headed to AK to spend time with family, the truck broke in Hoback, WY and I didn't know if I could work more than 20 hrs/wk. I lost almost everything, again my Faith & now the kindness of strangers kept me going. Now 4 years later, I am excited at the opportunity to give back and make a difference in Ag communities around the west.
