Marta's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy a threshing machine to thresh seeds and sell to the small farmers in her village.

Marta's story

Marta is a 35-year-old Mozambican woman who lives with her husband and their children in Ulongué, a village in the north of Mozambique. She is a dedicated family woman and does her best to support her husband and take care of their lovely children.

In order to increase her family’s income, Marta decided many years ago to sell agriculture inputs to other small farmers such as herself in her community. After getting access to the market, she discovered another opportunity to become a supplier of seeds that she produced herself to the small farmers in her community.

Marta’s dream is to improve the living conditions of her family, especially her children. For this reason, she is requesting a Kiva loan to buy a threshing machine to thresh and store the seeds during this season when the prices are relatively low. Then she can sell them later at the appropriate time when all the small farmers need seeds. This will surely increase the income to her family, allowing her to continue this activity in a more sustainable way.
