A loan helped to buy more mulberry for her business making tapa to provide some more tapa to sell.

'ilaisaane's story

'Ilaisaane is 41 years old. She is currently running her business making tapa [a patterned cloth made from the bark of the mulberry tree]. She is divorced and has four children and is the only one who is responsible for looking after them.

'Ilaisaane received her loan from SPBD and used it to buy some more raw materials for her business. Her business runs every week. She joined a group of women who were making tapa together and she sells the tapa in the market to earn income, helping her family and also helping to pay back her loan.

There were six people living together in her house and 'Ilaisaane makes sure that she is capable of looking after her children since her husband has gone and left her with them. Her goals and visions for the future are to expand her business and plan to pay another two employees to help in order to provide more income for her family.
