Moses's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy a biodigester to transform his farm into a sustainable business.

Moses's story

Moses is an ambitious farmer who lives in Ntuge, Kenya with his family, including his children. He used to buy firewood to power his farm, but this has become a problem. Since trees are scarce, it is even more difficult for farmers to have affordable access to energy. He plans to use a Sistema.bio biodigester to eliminate wood, fossil fuels (LP gas), and agrochemical fertilizers from his farm.

With his twelve cubic meters Sistema.bio biodigester, he will transform his three cows' manure into renewable energy (biogas) and organic fertilizer (biol), which will enable his family to cook without smoke, and stop spending time fetching and chopping wood. In addition, Moses’ family will also increase the corn and forage productivity with the organic fertilizer that the biodigester produces, and give back to the soil the nutrients needed to reforest his homestead in a sustainable manner.

As a result, Moses will be able to cut down on operating costs, which will generate more savings to purchase feeds, thus expanding his dairy business.

This loan represents 65% of the price of the biodigester; the remaining part will be paid directly by Moses.
