Perla And Juan's story
My brother Juan and I were born in Mexico to hard-working parents who owned a business in the city. My brother and I watched as they worked very hard to get the business off the ground until it got to the point where they had their own restaurant. We were inspired by everything they did for us and their passion for all of the food they made. Through them, we learned the importance of quality work, perseverance, and great customer service. My brother and parents were the first to move to the United States and I came soon after. When we first arrived, life seemed like a nightmare for two teenagers from Mexico. New York City was a very difficult place to grow up and assimilate to. Unfortunately, our parents were unable to replicate the business they had back home here in the City. By chance, my brother made connections with the right people and they took him on as an apprentice where he learned the art of carpet making. Following our parents lead, we both worked very hard to save and create a better life for ourselves and family. Today, I have been working full time for over 25 years but my passion lies in helping create a family legacy with my brother. We are hoping through this business to inspire our future generations to work hard and make a name for themselves.
