Kousar's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy embroidery materials such as thread, fancy cloth, sequins, and various-colored pearls to have in stock.

Kousar's story

Kousar is a 41-year-old woman, living with her spouse in the area of Multan, Pakistan. She is the mother of six daughters and two sons. Her husband is responsible for fulfilling the needs of the entire family, but Kousar has been running an embroidery business for two years to meet other expenses. Her native language is Punjabi, which she speaks with her family and she speaks Urdu culturally and for her business. They live in a rented house made of brick that has drinking water, electricity and plumbing.

Her embroidery business is very famous in the area and runs well. Her business has increased, so Kousar wants to meet the demand for bridal dresses by buying thread, fancy cloth, sequins and pearls of various colors to have in stock. She does not have sufficient cash in hand to buy the items. Her challenge is having sufficient capital to run her business and also be able to support her family.

Kousar humbly requested a loan from BRAC Pakistan to buy thread, fancy cloth, sequins and various-colored pearls. Kousar and her family will be thankful to Kiva, its lenders, and BRAC Pakistan for helping them fund this loan to improve their living standards.
