Coumba's Group's story

This group was established in March 2010. It is made up of women who go along well and are merchants and livestock farmers.

Coumba, age 18, is married and the mother of four children. She's the woman standing on the right in the photograph. She's the group's featured borrower. For several years, she's been raising livestock. In parallel, she's also a merchant.

With her new loan, she intends to buy two sheep that she will fatten and resell six months later. The remainder of the loan will be used to buy soap and chili pepper that she will retail in her village. She intends to use her profits to strengthen her business and meet customer demand.
