Benkadi Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy bags of rice to resell in order to pay for his family's needs.

Benkadi Group's story

Yacouba is the one with the bag of rice in front of him in the photo. He is a 50-year-old uneducated Malian, married and the father of seven children between six and 22 years old; five attend school. His wife is a housekeeper.

Yacouba warehouses rice and has seven years of experience in this business. He relies on loans from the microfinance institution RMCR to have more money so he can buy rice and earn more profit. He gets his supplies at the markets in his area and resells at the same markets.

Sometimes he has problems with his purchases, like good rice mixed with bad rice (pebbles and bran). He can earn around 15,000 CFA francs in profit every month from his sales. Yacouba uses the profit he earns to pay for some of his family's needs, such as clothing and his children's school fees.

In the future, Yacouba wants to have a larger loan to expand his business.
