Sequoia

I grew up in Big Sur, CA and spent lots of time outdoors and playing sports and cooking. I lived in many countries all over the world before settling in Oakland to raise my daughter my daughter. As a full time single parent I have used working out as a source of stress relief and as a way to build community. I have created a business built on empowering women and building a sense of community amount my clients. My goal for the future is to create a gym and cultural space that can serve as a place for community members to gather and share in beneficial activities like workouts, cooking classes, healthy meals, music classes, dance classes, and more. This space could also be a incubator for other entrepreneurs. I began my entrepreneurial journey in college when I created and ran my own summer camp out of my house, I wanted to work for a camp that taught sports, environmental stewardship, and served healthy snacks, and was bilingual. I couldn’t find any programs like that so I created my own. I ran my camp for 4 years and had over 80 children each year participate which was 90% of the children in the local elementary school.
