A loan helped to buy hygiene products for resale.
Mariama's Group's story
This group was created by the Banc Villageois that was formed in September 2009; it is made up of 15 women who live in the same neighbourhood. They get on well and work in the commerce of various products. Mrs. Astou who is 45, is the leader; she is standing on the left with her hand raised. She is divorced with three children including one boy, and one girl who goes to school. Mrs. Astou sells hygiene products (detergent, soap, liquid soap, soap powder...) that she buys from wholesalers to resell retail; she makes her sales from her home. She has several years experience in this field. With her new loan, she plans to buy three cartons of soap bars and two sacks of soap powder that she will sell without difficulty. She sells for credit or for cash. The profits will enable her to provide for her daily expenses and to make savings with the Banc Villageois.
