Doreen's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy seeds and start horticultural farming, thereby making more profit and improving her living conditions.

Doreen's story

Not only is Doreen (pictured in her simple house) a very hardworking woman, she is also determined to achieve a better life and remove herself from poverty. Doreen keeps cows on her farm and has a small garden where she plants different crops. She is a hard worker who cares for both her family and her farm. By selling her farm produce, Doreen has gained access to many buyers in the market, and this makes her feel accomplished.

Doreen has a lovely family whom she really adores. She never had the opportunity to advance her education, but this did not kill her dream of wanting to succeed in life. To earn additional income, Doreen makes a commission on sales that she helps arrange the logistics for getting farm produce from local farmers to their buyers. She has been conducting this business for over a decade, and makes continual efforts to build strong relationships, because reputation is everything in her line of work.

Doreen is seeking a loan of 30,000 KES to buy seeds to start horticulture farming on her farm. She wants to take advantage of favourable weather patterns, a good road network in her village, good soil, and a ready market for horticulture products to reap more profit.

Doreen hopes that with this loan, she will improve her living conditions.
