Nancy's story

A loving mother moves from pillar to post for the satisfaction of her children, just like Nancy, who is pictured here. She is a hard worker and a high-flier. Nancy hails from a remote village in the Thika area of Kenya. This area has tough living conditions and to survive you must have tough skin. But Nancy has defied all the odds and has chosen to work hard so that she can meet the requirements of her loving family. She is their only breadwinner. Nancy works on her farm, growing trees and vegetables and rearing dairy.

Though she dearly loves crop farming, Nancy's farm is at risk of attack by crop pests and diseases. To a poor rural farmer, treatment of crop diseases requires an increase in the total operational costs to the extent that, in most cases, the amount of capital invested to produce a desired yield surpasses the output harvested. The remedy is to use certified seeds that are resistant to pests and diseases.

Nancy is requesting a loan to purchase farm inputs such as hybrid seeds and nutrient rich fertilizer to produce a good harvest that will support her children and improve her housing condition. She thanks you for this gesture of good will in her life.
