Gladis Asunción's story

The city of Portoviejo was affected by the 16 April 2016 earthquake. The city is rich in the production of vegetables, legumes, and tropical fruit for domestic consumption.

Gladis, 52, is married and has four children, all adults and independent. Her husband's a taxi driver. They live in their own house.

Gladis sells products from Avon and Yanbal catalogues (beauty products, cosmetics, perfume, and women's accessories) so she can get ahead with her family. She sells door-to-door and at home, and makes sales every day. She leaves the products on credit and collects payment every week.

With this new loan she's going to buy costume jewelry, make-up, creams, etc.

Her dream is to have her own store and to continue with her sales.
